The Cup has not been played for 7 years and has been reinstated this year and will take place at the New Barrack Tavern on Monday 12/09/2011 at 7.45pm.

The First Round Draw
The Games are to be played with 15 minutes each on the clock and a Handicap system is in place
Players graded over 100 will deduct 1 minute per every 10 graded points they are higher than their opponent. The minimum grad is 100
The first round was drawn at the Chess Club on Monday 22/08/2011 as follows

Other players will be drawn against each other on the night
Phil South will Judicate unless anyone else offers on or before the night
The winner will be presented with the Stannington Cup
Please can all players try to come to this event, with the fixtures meeting next week it would be great to see everyone and you can be filled in with recent developments

Due to the Childrens’s Charter at the New Barrack, All players under the age of 16 have to be out of the premises by 9pm

Ron had his Knee operation on Tuesday 06/09/11 and all seems to be going well.
We all wish Ron a speedy recovery and hope to see him back at the club soon
